What is Transpersonal Counselling?

My training prepared me to approach counselling from many different directions, with a variety of approaches and I like to respond to my client’s needs. While I can work from multiple directions, my area of expertise is in Transpersonal Counselling.

Transpersonal Counselling is a holistic approach to therapy that focuses on a person's mind, body and spiritual dimensions, as well as, growth potential. It aims to help people heal and integrate their physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual aspects. It is born out of the humanist tradition of therapy which is person-centered, allowing the client to be the expert in their experience.

Transpersonal counselling can include:

·       Self-exploration

Therapists and clients work together to create a safe space for clients to explore their inner wisdom.

·       Spiritual Practices

Therapists use techniques like meditation, mindfulness, and guided imagery to help clients access deeper parts of their psyche or find peace. If there is a spiritual process or ideas you would like to incorporate into our therapy together, just make sure to let me know what that is.

·       Hypnotherapy

Therapists can use hypnotherapy to help clients visit altered states of consciousness.

·       Inner Child work and Parts Work Therapy

Therapists can use inner child work to help clients build a positive outlook and self-confidence.

Transpersonal counselling is based on the idea that people can heal by reconnecting with their true selves and feeling more connected to others and the world.
